MULTI-WORD VERBS

 

When Andreas Kalcker´s book brough out, I had been waiting for it. Once I came across it in the city centre. My friend Charlie didn´t put up with it because of he doesn´t believe in alternative medicine.  It took me back when I had found “Atlas” in a Street market.

EXERCISE 7C -- SENTENCES

One year ago I was planning to travel to Monterrey to turn out to cheer my favorite basketball team but I came across a big problem and my plans had been canceled. Anyway, I decided to continue planning the way I could travel to Monterrey but It looked impossible, however, I wasn't going to give up so I started to research Airbnb (on them, some people put you up for a few days and It's cheaper than a hotel). After some days I found a family who was available to accept me (You must be careful with this because some people came across as good people but they aren't). so my place in Monterrey was ready, now I just need to get a flight. I called a lot of travel agencies but they didn't get me what I wanted even though I put up with an angry manager. I was giving up until I received great notice. Aerolineas Mexico brought out a new plane and just for a short time the flight will be 70% off (I was really happy because this notice took me back when I traveled with my father, he used to be lucky with flights). Well, finally everything was ready and the big day had arrived. I put on a red skirt which brings out the color of my eyes. It turned out that It was for women, anyway I was really happy to waste time so I arrived at the airport and I said everything will be okay big mistake! I took my words back! My flight was delayed and I got lost at the airport. It was a mess! But finally, I boarded my flight and arrived in Monterrey!.

REPLYING TO MY FRIEND IN A INFORMAL WAY

Dear Friend,

I was happy to get your invitation about the activities and I'd love to return it. I always have good moments with you, and it looks like a good time for it.

You asked me about the itinerary, I prefer to do a different activity for example to take a walk or just stay at home and watch movies. And obviously, I'd love to accept your party invitation. 

The activities that you propose sounds great. Do you know if we'll get gifts for your friends?. I really want to see you as soon as possible.

Excercise 10 A.Informal reply.

Dear A.

I was happy to receive your email about the activities and would love to return. I always have a good time with you, and this seems like a good time for it.

REPLYING MY FRIEND

 

Dear friend.

 

I was happy to get your email about various activity options and I´d love to come back again, moreover this seems like a great time for it. Certainly, It would be my second time in that city. 

On Wednesday, I would rather walk in the hills nearby, it´s something that I have always enjoyed, and then we could drive out and look at the scenery.

On Thursday, it would be great to go to your friends' party so I would have a chance to meet them. 

As soon as I book my flight, I will let you know. Do you know a place where I can stay? I Will be able to stay for three days.

I was happy to get your email about the music festival, and I´d love to go. I have always wanted to visit Dublin, and this seems like a great time for it.

You asked me about concert choices but I didn´t get the link. It´d be great if you could send it again.

I´d rather  see dance than music. I´d let you know of my specific choices once I see the programme.

Your cousin´s flat sounds excellent! Do you know if it is in the city centre or on the ourskirts.

 I´ll be able to stay for three days, and I will book a flight once I know the concert dates.
