Can idealised images of models in media have a positive effect on ordinary people?

Social media has become very popular over the last few years. On one hand, it has helped people to communicate and keep in touch with friends and loved ones. However, it also has brought a lot of idealised images of models that every day are posted and shared for everyone to see. Regarding the late, it is argued whether these images can help people somehow or, on the contrary, have a negative effect on them. This brief essay will present what research suggests.

Since the number of “likes” is considered a measure of success, many celebrities work very hard to post images of them looking happy, healthy and in good shape. It is difficult to say if this is really the case, but it certainly attracts millions of people who enjoy thinking that it is possible to be just like them. Especially female undergraduate students, as some research suggests. They reported to have felt encouraged to take care of their bodies by exercising, eating healthy food and motivated to wearing fancy clothes.

However, recent research also showed that young women were in the worst mood and feeling unhappier with their appearance after they made social media comparisons. They even started thinking about doing unhealthy weight-loss activities. These findings are consistent with other research suggesting that envy, depression and body dissatisfaction are related to social media appearance comparisons. Although these studies only tested young women, research suggests there may be similar patterns for men and people of different ages.

In my opinion, it depends on the mental health and maturity of each person on how they take the idealised images that are posted on social media. If someone feels that their self esteem is affected by those images, it may be a good idea to unfollow the celebrity or friend who makes them feel unhappy.

The Top models in social media have a positive effect on teenage?

According to different sites on internet, the social media are interactive technologies that based on create and sharing of information and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks. In our days are more common the uses a lot of teenagers are present in the media, but like all in live this have a positive or negative effect and the results are particularly significant.

Many platforms could be lifesavers for teens who feel isolated or marginalized, particularly LGBTQ teens or who have problems at home. The impact of social media is closely linked to depression too. But whats are the impact that top models have in the young people?

It depends, but the experts affirm that social media influencers offer parents golden opportunities for teachable moments, and she suggests parents do research on the personalities their children are following and watch content together.

Concerns about the positive or negative impacts of social media influencers are nothing new. Parents in the 1950s fretted over this new kind of music called rock and roll, like now the parents do with internet models. It is many social media influencers with positive messages about health life, body positivism or social activism, also for the teens the know of these persons can help to socialize with others.

Conversely many mental and nutrition disorder are linked to achieving life and image that usually show almost impossible to achieve. Bringing dissatisfied people and the worst the loss of life that this entails for not meeting expectations.

The cons are extremely serious but not so common. And the good things are more besides that for me it all depends on how you want to use it in your life as an inspiration or an obsession.

Images of models in Media is a positive effect on ordinary people.... or not?

Negative things:

Usually, women use to compare their own appearance to famous people and think they’re less attractive than the images they see when they look at these attractive images on social media. Although these comparisons can make women unhappy with their appearance and put them in a bad mood. Given body dissatisfaction is an important predictor for eating disorders, we need to know if some types of comparisons are worse for people’s body image than others.

And the effects might be different depending on the social media platform, as some are more image-based than others. Those that rely on images, like Instagram and Snapchat, provide people with more opportunities to make appearance comparisons and may be more harmful to women’s body image and mood.

 Positive things:

Social media can positively impact body image in several ways. Health and wellness, fitness, and plant-based food accounts can all be inspirational models for some users. Through these frameworks, social media users can maintain a healthy and positive outlook on their body image. Recently, the organization Eating Disorder Hope detailed how social media can potentially benefit the way women feel about their body image. Further, social media can help some users navigate the heavily stigmatized topic of body image with different support groups available across different platforms.

To summarize the effects can be different (positive or negative) depending on the person, for example in my case I don't usually compare my body with famous people because I think that my body is normal, Nevertheless, I have a friend who always compares to models and she hates her body because is not skinny so I think that if you're a person who loves your body you'll never be affected in this situation.

The media and life of public figures

News and information on current events are some of the few most important things people look for every day. Reading the daily newspaper is as important as coffee in the morning, where huge headlines catch the interests of the readers. But what delivers this precious news? Media, the plural forum of the medium, describes any channel of communication and is used to spread important news and update the people.

Media focus on different areas, one of them is the area of journalistic ethics which involves exhaustive fieldwork on group behavior in the processes for obtaining information, much less on media harassment of public figures. for example the diffusion of a photograph of Princess Diana in the Italian magazine Chi. The black-and-white image showed Diana, unconscious or already dead, while someone is giving her oxygen. They have been plagued with rampant sensationalism, unanimously condemning the diffusion of photographers. Perhaps It's hard for a normal private person to imagine the stress, anxiety, or oppressiveness caused by the constant harassment of reporters. Although it may be simply a form of virtual entertainment, the truth is that paparazzi are obstreperous.

On the other hand, Journalistic practices are really trying to find out the truth (information, the news story, etc). They have a significant role to play in responsible research and innovation. addition, keeping the public informed about leading scientific discoveries and engaging the public in authoritative clear debates about different kinds of issues.  However, media tools can be used to increase the exchange of information and knowledge.

To sum up, I think that celebrities have been victims of rough harassment. They deserve the same kind of privacy as a normal private person. However, the media has been one of the most important things in this world: they give us new information essential for the construction of important events and creating a perspective about facts. The final result will depend on the intention of the journal. Moreover, public figures are the principal stereotype for a lot of people so it's important to know about them and the type of person who has been.

That will be a problem!

One year ago I was planning to travel to Monterrey to turn out to cheer my favorite basketball team but I came across a big problem and my plans had been canceled. Anyway, I decided to continue planning the way I could travel to Monterrey but It looked impossible, however, I wasn't going to give up so I started to research Airbnb (on them, some people put you up for a few days and It's cheaper than a hotel). After some days I found a family who was available to accept me (You must be careful with this because some people came across as good people but they aren't). so my place in Monterrey was ready, now I just need to get a flight. I called a lot of travel agencies but they didn't get me what I wanted even though I put up with an angry manager. I was giving up until I received great notice. Aerolineas Mexico brought out a new plane and just for a short time the flight will be 70% off (I was really happy because this notice took me back when I traveled with my father, he used to be lucky with flights). Well, finally everything was ready and the big day had arrived. I put on a red skirt which brings out the color of my eyes. It turned out that It was for women, anyway I was really happy to waste time so I arrived at the airport and I said everything will be okay big mistake! I took my words back! My flight was delayed and I got lost at the airport. It was a mess! But finally, I boarded my flight and arrived in Monterrey!.
