In order to make a message stronger, there is no right or wrong answer unto whether
the manipulation of media photos is actually something that should carry on
happening . Some people think it is wrong to change the way people look, nevertheless
others believe that the changing and manipulation of media photos is all part
of the media process and they acept it.
First of all, these changes
are motivating references within the parameters as long as individual values
are included to improve, for example, the quality of life. Indeed, through them
it spreads physical characteristics, lifestyles, ways that can somehow promote to
those who observe them. Moreover, this action can be beneficial if it is used
with the intention of promoting individual values in society. Even when it is
unrealistic, people are more likely to compare themselves to these images due
to the excessive exposure we have to them.
Although it could also
affect the person making them feel worse by not being able to get the image
they observe. Furthermore, we live in a
current society that consists of a high percentage of people living with high
body dissatisfaction and the manipulation of images in media could potentially
increase this percentage.
I am convinced that at young
age, teenagers, for example, are very impressionable and can become frustrated
with the "ideals to achieve" that they often see in these types of
images. It seems to me that this type of technological actions must be
regulated, otherwise, they will continue to contribute to the disorientation of
individuals, especially those who are still forming their personality.
